HISTORY Social Media Associate (Temporary)
Role Purpose:
The HISTORY Social Media Associate will be the frontline brand representative for the History Social Media Strategy & Creative Department, interacting and engaging with fans in real-time on social media as well as creating, curating and distributing custom content specifically for the social media landscape. It is imperative that the HISTORY Social Media Associate understand the male demographic and internet behavior of our audience.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for day to day social engagement around the HISTORY brand and programming accounts, including live-posting priority premieres, posting content and engaging the social communities around new series, existing communities, and building new fanbases.
• Work with Vice President, Sr. Director of Strategy, Sr. Creative Director and Content Producers/Creators to develop content calendar and platform specific distribution strategy
• Create or distribute custom images, gifs, memes, promos and videos specifically for the social media space & platforms.
• Liaise with History talent and PR and Talent Relations Teams. Create and provide talent with social assets to distribute and promote across their social channels via dropbox.
• Oversee Influencer campaigns and content creator activations.
• Identify top fans, fandoms, stans, and reward and recognize their enthusiasm for our shows.
• Provide live social coverage of events and shoots.
• Aid in the onboarding of new community associates.
• Conduct social listening and provide community expertise on assigned projects and shows using our data tools: Canvs, Spredfast, and ListenFirst.
• Write copy and editorial with clear understanding of our demographic/audience, our tone and brand point of view.
• Collaborate with cross-departments on their social media needs (ad sales, integrations, paid media, marketing and PR).
• Use Photoshop to create or edit images, assets.
• Work on other A E properties/networks when needed and available.
Qualifications
/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field
• Minimum one-two (1-2) years relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications:
• Must love entertainment and TV! Don't care how you see it or stream it, but you need to love watching shows, talking about them, and being a true fan of your favorites programs!
• Please have a lot of passion about social media and internet culture!
• Must love outdoor lifestyle topics such as wilderness, hunting, fishing, treasure hunting and competitions. In addition, should have an interest in the otherworldly (aliens, unexplained phenomena, UFOs). Must love historical documentaries, reality shows, and lifestyle programming geared toward the male demographic.
• Interest in history, journalism and passion for how it can be reflected in modern culture is a plus!
• Experience and proficiency in design programs such as Photoshop
• Experience with videography & photography
• Coverage of weekly programming and across weekends
