Full Time Job
The Director, Live and Studio Production is responsible for technical and operational oversight for all A E production events including live, recorded, and remote productions. This position also has oversight of the physical NY and Brooklyn production studios. This position will be the operational point-person and consultant for various clients and depts utilizing the studios and for external, corporate, and campus events.
Major Activities
• Manage team of studio and remote production experts. Be main technical point of contact for all internal departments and external Production Companies and show runners utilizing NY and Brooklyn Studios.
• recruit, hire, and motivate team. Train on all necessary equipment and workflows to support production. Stay in constant communication with clients on all projects.
• Partner with A E content creation teams to run a live production; guide and manage events accordingly; this would include live broadcast and live Social Media events. Partner with Programming, Dev Lab, Social, 45/Dean, Marketing, etc to guide and advise on various aspects of the production process as well as educate on capabilities and resources
• Proactively engage with all content creation teams and find opportunity to use studio and resources
• Act as in-house Tech Manager, or TD as needed to leverage knowledge base and save costs
• Technical oversight, support, troubleshooting, and house resource for A E internal studios to cover all production and operational needs associated with production events
• Full knowledge of all equipment and aspects of studio, control room, and support areas
• Oversee shows and keep on time and budget
• Oversee production media supply chain and ensure efficiencies and media availability and centralization throughout Global Technology & Operations
• Work with end users and manage incoming source and outgoing media for necessary domestic and international distribution and availability
Qualification Requirements TBD Educational Requirements BA or BS on Communications or equivalent vocational education
Knowledge of various studio and remote production equipment and ability to operate gear as needed
Leader with proven understanding of all live production processes, equipment, and scenarios
10 years production technical management experience
Demonstrated ability to think quickly and manage crisis situations during productions
Ability to partner, influence, and manage relationships across organization
Ability to manage crew across multiple projects and locations
