ABOUT THIS JOB:
(Work Remotely)
Our Animation School, based in Mexico City, is looking for Bilingual (Spanish / English) Character Animation professionals to help us create one or more of the following Character Animation video courses for Distant learning.
1. The Principles of Animation: If you're in the industry, this is self explanatory :)
2. Mechanics of Body movement: The goal is to teach how the human (and animal) body moves, anatomically wise, and how to use Timing and Spacing to better express movement.
3. Advanced Body movement and Camera Framing: Teach students how to ace more complex body movement, how and why to use the principle of exaggeration, and how to use shot editing to improve storytelling. Introduction to continuity.
4. Acting for Animation - Foundations: How to apply Posing and Facial animation to express emotions. A study of how real actors accomplish this, and how to apply the animation principles to successfully do so through animation. How to do Lipsyinc.
5. Acting for Animation - Advanced: How to plan and approach an animation scene in a professional environment, with the intention of using acting to strengthen the scene/story, this includes how to combine poses, emotions, camera and staging to create a powerful scene.
ABOUT THE COURSES:
Each course is designed to be completed by our students over 11 weeks so, to teach one full course, we would need one (approx 1hr) video tutorial per week. We can provide a Screen Recorder app if you don't have one.
The main goal of our courses is to teach them in a way that allows our students to apply the weekly lessons to a personal, character animation project, which they must submit in class 12.
You may split the weekly tutorial into shorter videos, as needed. Courses will be taught using the most recent version of Maya 3D, and you may also include clips from published films/shows to make your points clearer, as you would do while teaching in a physical classroom (covered under the fair use copyright section)
REQUIREMENTS:
* We will use Maya 3D to teach these courses, so you must be proficient in this using this tool for Character Animation.
* You must be working or have recently worked on a major Animation production as a Character Animator. (Film or TV)
* You must be fluent in Spanish.
* According to your experience level, you may opt to help us develop one or more of the above courses.
* You enjoy sharing your experience and knowledge with other people.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
In addition to these video tutorials, we want to explore with successful candidates, the possibility of them distant-mentoring our students once per week, based on the lessons taught in these courses. This would be a separate on-going job.
HOW TO APPLY:
Please send us your Resumé and a link to your Character Animation Demo Reel.
