Summary of Job:
The Production Resource Specialist will fulfill an essential role in providing strategic insights and analytics to the artist management team and in support of the artistic community at WDAS. The purpose of this position is to track data on production resource forecasting and talent utilization at the studio. The PRS will help develop and maintain the vision of processes and tools to provide more transparency into the casting and deployment activities and architect regular reports and dashboards to inform and support strategic decision making around talent management within the studio.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
• Helps develop the next iteration of the WDAS workforce planning system and establishes the vision for streamlining the workforce planning process
• Works closely with the Artist Managers and Associate Producers to bring discipline and regularity to all the long and short-term resource forecasting and deployment processes
• Sets standardized processes from show to show and ensures there is consistency and accuracy in the data surrounding workforce planning
• Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data in the WDAS workforce planning system and continually looks for ways to improve the way we capture and utilize the data
• Creates the documents and scenarios that will support resource forecasts and translates them into dashboards that help support decision-making around talent management
• Consolidates oversight of studio wide resource needs and utilization. Identifies potential overstaffing or underutilization concerns and flags them and provides recommendations in the appropriate meetings to the Artist Managers and the Director, Production and Artist Management
• Analyze and track the production updates in our workforce planning tool to identify recent changes and identify the impact on these changes on the provisional casting plans
• Works with the Artist Managers in the show staffing meetings and monthly workforce planning meetings to discuss staffing possibilities and decisions
• Manage the deployment of all Apprentices in partnership with Artist Managers and Talent Development
• Architect dashboards and reports to reflect: upcoming transitions, staffing needs, staffing changes, in-between time gaps, and staffing conflicts to inform strategic decision making around these topics
• Reviews ''downtime'' information and summarizes this data into actionable conclusions and recommendations for future downtime planning
Knowledge, skills and experience:
• Proficient in Excel, Word and database processing
• SQL/scripting or custom report creation is highly preferred
• Shotgun experience is a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal, listening and communication skills. Must be a team player
• The ability to effectively communicate, interact and partner with production management, creative talent and studio management
• Specialized knowledge of the animation production process (2D and 3D) and familiarity with production environments
• Strong skills in the area of time management and organization
• Flexible with a strong ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow-through
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail are required
• Must be customer service-oriented and an intuitive trouble shooter
• High level of confidentiality and discretion and capacity to remain calm under pressure
