Job Summary
We are looking for a Freelance Social Marketing professional to join our team for 3 months to cover a number of functions to help support the MTV Marketing team at this very busy time.
The Social Marketing Asst will work with the rest of the marketing team (Senior Brand Manager, Brand Manager and Brand Exec) to predominantly generate social media assets for use across all social platforms that the Marketing team manage on a day to day basis. Over this period we will be running 360 degree Marketing campaigns for 8 priority show campaigns.
Aside from social media and content generation responsibilities, this individual will also be responsible for working on Affiliate Marketing functions to support the Brand Manager, per priority campaign and assist with team admin from raising POs, updating budget sheets and inputting on wider marketing activities on owned media campaigns.
The core objective of the Marketing team is to drive linear ratings for our top titles so we are looking for an individual who will champion our brand and audience, a youth expert who is committed to knowing our target audience and how to connect with them.
The candidate will have a proven track record in creating social media assets, from stills and gifs to shortform video edits to knowing how to shoot social content and spotting opportunities to do so. We are keen to invite someone into our team who has experience in social copywriting, scheduling and calendar management.
Primary Responsibilities
Social Media
• Social copywriting; be the voice of our range of show brands – Geordie Shore, Ex on the Beach Body SOS, Ex on the Beach, Teen Mom UK, Just Tattoo Of Us, plus a number of brand new shows in this period. Includes real time social monitoring and responding/conversation and formulating ‘live plans’ to go out at time of live transmission of our key shows each week (via a third party contractor).
• Social asset creation; own the generation of daily assets to go out across all platforms. Not limited to but including: Gifs, stills, video edits
• Multi-task – in this period we will have a number of shows going out on air just days apart on a weekly basis. Being able to coordinate workload and flow is essential to ensure this is carried out efficiently.
• Feed into social media strategies; idea generation, new trends, insights
• Manage, maintain and communicate regular social media calendars
• Weekly reporting
• Scheduling of content on a daily basis
• Content planning and shooting at various PR shoots, promo shoots – use of camera equipment for this purpose would be desirable
• Input on social content wish lists to deliver to production companies at time of show record
• Knowledge and use of social insight tools and analytics
Affiliate Marketing
• Working with the Brand Manager, ensure that per priority campaign we have a suitable and innovative send out to send to key affiliate contacts at the likes of Sky and Virgin Media
• Help coordinate office visits
• Help maintain highlight documents
Marketing Campaign Management
• Potential to run an owned media campaign for a number of smaller shows, working alongside the Brand Exec and Brand Manager to do so
Team Admin
• Raise required POs
• Input on campaign budget sheets accordingly
• Presentations; pull together required reports or decks as needed
