PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time, staff position starting SUMMER 2018
Viacom Distribution & Business Development is the department responsible for negotiating distribution agreements, maximizing revenue, and marketing opportunities from traditional (Comcast, DirecTV, Verizon FiOS, etc.), digital (Amazon, Hulu, etc.) and new media distribution channels while ensuring that fans can discover and engage with Viacom content on every available device and platform.
This position is part of a Rotation Program where participants rotate across Coordinator-level positions within the Distribution & Business Development division: Sales and Business Development, Marketing, Strategy and Operations. The Rotation Program is designed to provide Coordinators the opportunity to broaden their skills across multiple disciplines, gain a more holistic understanding of the operations of multiple functions within Distribution & Business Development, and prepare them for future advancement.
Key Components:
Participants will receive comprehensive support and programming from Viacom’s Campus to Career team throughout the length of the program. Including but not limited to:
• Professional Development Workshops
• Speaker Series (designed to accelerate business knowledge and acumen)
• Mentorship
Basic Qualifications
Candidates should meet the basic qualifications listed below.
• Bachelor’s degree; preferably 1-2 years of professional experience (including internships)
• Interest in and passion for entertainment, media, emerging platforms/media apps/tech, and client service
• Organized, detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding written and oral communications skills as required to interface across multiple levels and groups
• Proactive self-starter and team player, ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adapt to changing industry and organizational landscape
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Photoshop, a plus
