Overview:
Senior-Level director who will work closely with Program Acquisition executives, providing acquired program data and business intelligence by reporting, forecasting and creating industry insight presentations involving the media business space. Frequently contributes to the development of new methods and processes that further department workflow efficiencies. Will work on intricate deal scenarios that require in-depth evaluation of multiple underlying factors.
Responsibilities:
• Create high-level business presentations for senior management that fuses financial, strategic and competitive information into a unified format.
• Cultivate complex market data and prepare time-sensitive synthesized reports identifying gaps / opportunities in the marketplace (e.g. industry trends, competitor analysis).
• Develop acquired programming trackers and reports and identify key takeaways that impact future negotiations.
• Review deal proposals that include estimates, usage and financials to provide feedback on product negotiations.
• Provide understandings of overall performance of acquired product utilizing a broad spectrum of tools and sources to identify key metrics, trends and insights.
• Keep abreast of emerging platforms, technologies and companies that are changing the program acquisitions business providing business intelligence and recurring updates.
• In partnership with IT, oversee the development and implementation of product databases that include potential program deals, competitive information, licensing terms, financial details and turnkey reports.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years at a media company with robust understanding of cable and media industry trends. Experience in Programming, Bus Dev, Financial Planning and/or Research a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree with focus on Media and/or Business preferred.
Additional Qualifications
• Solid analytical skills with ability to examine data and easily explain complex concepts.
• Strength in creating visually compelling presentations, including communicating ideas and information graphically and effectively.
• Must demonstrate advanced level of strategic competence, executive presence and communication skills.
• Knowledge of program acquisitions and exposure to deal negotiations preferred.
• Experience using viewer-insight software, including Nielsen
• High-level proficiency in all MS Office applications (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be Powerpoint expert / Excel Super-User with experience in database use & development.
