Job Purpose
Obtaining new accounts- identifying new potential customers and developing a sales and marketing plan to serve these customers.
This role resides in VER's National sales team, focused on the corporate event, hotel, and event staging market. VER is the leading company in the rental space for audio, visual, display, and artistic equipment. VER has over $1B in audio/visual equipment assets that it rents out to a wide array of customers, including musical tours, corporate conferences, live sporting events, and reality TV shows, among many others. The equipment is typically very expensive, complicated machinery and electronics, including HD Cameras, LED Displays, TV Monitors, HD Projectors, Speaker Systems, Data Terminals, and Media Consoles. VER provides both equipment and event services related to the operations of this equipment for different events. It is a dynamic, entrepreneurial company that has doubled in size over the past 5 years.
VER is in the process of significantly expanding its national sales team throughout the country, both in existing offices, but also in smaller markets beyond the current scope. The outside sales Representative is heavily customer-facing role, with significant relationship management skills required. The Representative will chiefly be responsible for obtaining new accounts, servicing existing accounts, and generally managing local accounts and events for the corporate event, hotel, and event staging market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtaining new accounts- identifying new potential customers and developing a sales and marketing plan to serve these customers.
Servicing existing accounts- regular calls to existing customers to develop sales
Submitting orders- will take orders from customers and submit them to sales agents for writing and quoting the details.
Managing the execution of events - will be responsible for ensuring the customer receives the correct gear for a given event by working with VER's operations team. Customers may change their needs, find problems with equipment, or need additional gear. The sales representative will be the first point of contact to arrange to accommodate these needs.
Reporting- keeps management informed by submitting results reports
Competitive monitoring- monitors competition by gathering information on pricing, products, new products,
Products- recommends changes in products and service based on customer needs
Marketing of gear- support marketing efforts of VER generally by marketing new gear to customers. This would involve both learning the features of equipment and the active development of a marketing approach for this gear to new customers
Technical knowledge- maintains professional and technical knowledge of gear
Schedule: Monday-Friday, or as volume requires
Position Location:
Position would be located in Dallas, TX
Reporting
The position would report directly to the Regional Director of Sales, but would also take direction from the National Director of Sales
Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience in equipment sales/rental and/or live event management
Customer service experience
Prospecting skills
Negotiations
Technical Knowledge of audio/visual equipment
Motivation for sales and ability to close
Ability to maintain close client relationships
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Proficiency with CRM Software preferred, but not required
