Description
Universal Music Group is currently seeking a Leader for Sales & Commercial Partnerships to lead the function within the Universal Music Enterprise business. The leader serves as a strategic member of the senior management team, driving business and high volume revenue as it relates to digital and physical sales and partnerships. Experience in similar roles within the music industry is required. The leader is also responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of thirteen professional team members.
• Must have label experience; be from the music industry
• Seasoned mid-level leader ready for a senior level role or a current Sr. Director/VP Sales
• Account management experience
Job Responsibilities
• Maximize revenue performance through physical, digital and custom sales channels
• Take full advantage of retail platforms with largest retailers, while enhancing digital commerce
• Partner across labels on UMG catalogue initiatives
• Interact, influence and manage relationships across senior executives, artists’ management, and estates
• Assess evolving industry threats and craft response for UMG’s direction
• Gathers intelligence on external environment and likely changes which impact consumption of music
• Leads a team of professionals, ensuring timely and thorough execution
• Planning and delivering innovative solutions that drive sales
• Building and sustaining external industry relationships
Skills/Abilities:
• Must have experience working in the music industry and label ecosystem
• Strong and effective communication and presentation skills; significant experience presenting to executives
• Attention to detail, organized, and thorough
• Proven ability to analyze, assess and see trends on the horizon – takes risks that put UMG’s catalogue business at the forefront; moves quickly to change
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work across various labels & with strong personalities, internal and external
• Proven influencing and collaboration skills to overcome/navigate competing priorities to achieve the right results
• Transparent communication; can have tough conversations and deliver ‘bad news’ with a solutions-oriented approach
• Moves fast, has an opinion, makes decisions
• Ability to work in a high pressure, stable, high performing environment
• Great people leader
• Can lead strategic discussions internally and externally
• Superior account management
• Other duties and requirements as required
Experience:
