Description
Reporting to the Director of Interactive Marketing, this role will be responsible for ideation and content development for several of the Universal Music social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of online culture and current/upcoming social trends to engage with and grow an audience base, along with strong written communication skills for content creation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Musically, Pinterest)
• Write music news, blog, and lifestyle content for umusic.ca & soundslikenashville.ca including Newsletters.
• Assist with content creation when covering live events (i.e. on camera interviews with our artists), and social accounts.
• Create strategies for interactive social content (i.e. Facebook Live).
• Assist with creation, conception, and presentation of social media strategy and integrated marketing campaigns.
• Analyze and report on brand platforms including site analytics.
• Schedule our social platforms & engage with our communities.
• Collaborate and strategize with The Marketing team and A&R to plot how we will use our audience to grow our artists as well as help promote sales.
• To work with the content team on coming up with creative content ideas that our audience will engage with.
• Stay abreast of current digital trends and evolving digital technology and look for new digital marketing opportunities.
• Establish a strong working relationship with our artists and artist management teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• In-depth knowledge of online culture, especially social networks and online tools.
• Must have strong written and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Sprout Social) and Wordpress.
• Design skills an asset.
• Video/Photo capturing and editing skills an asset.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be highly organized.
• Knowledge and passionate about the music industry.
• Must be creative, outgoing, enthusiastic and an independent problem-solver.
• Must be able to attend live events such as concerts during evenings and weekends.
