MANAGER, MARKETING AND MEDIA PLANNING
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Marketing and Strategy
TIFF is seeking a Marketing and Media Planning Manager who is responsible for managing campaigns and programs with an expertise in media planning, recommendations and buying with the goal of building audiences and generating revenue. The Manager helps build, drive, execute and support the marketing campaigns and is the day-to-day lead on a specific and/or multiple pieces of business. In your role you will be putting users at the center of our multi-channel TIFF programming, offering a strategic omni-channel approach that let users act on product or service triggers and motivations regardless of the channel.
The Manager, Marketing and Media Planning works with the Senior Manager of Marketing and Strategy as well as a multidisciplinary internal team to craft innovative strategy that inspires transformational creative work and revenue generation. The manager should demonstrate the ability to think broadly across the breadth of touch points as well as a comfort drilling deeper into any specific channel. Ingenuity and drive are key character traits of the person who will take on this role.
You will create insight informed briefs that drive strategies and plans around launching campaigns, content, generating revenue for year-round programming, fundraising and community building.
In this role, you will work interdepartmentally to audit, analyze and recommend media placements and partnerships based on short and long term goals of TIFF, the programming, and consumer engagement needs.
You can plan long term strategies and are also able to react in real-time to data to adapt in-market campaigns. From website heat mapping to financial tracking to engagement metrics, you know how to synthesize data from a variety of sources to paint a clear picture of where we are successful and where we should be investing our time, money and resources.
Responsibilities
• Understand how to develop and manage strategies and that include earned, owned and paid channels with the goal of audience development and revenue generation for Festival Programming: Toronto International Film Festival, Canada's, Top Ten Film Festival, Youth Learning: TIFF Kids Festival, digiPlaySpace, TIFF Next Wave Film Festival, TIFF Learning (Camps, School Programmes), Cinematheque, New Releases, etc.
• Moderate strategic brainstorms and workshops
• Gather data and extrapolates key learnings from our network of platforms
• Analyze and create daily / weekly / monthly reports and dashboards to track campaign metrics and complies key learnings at the end of each campaign
• Use analysis and results from A/B testing to backup decision-making
• Collaborate with creative, content and marketing teams to deliver campaigns that create positive impact in culture
• Build strong relationships with creative, account and client teams as well as with partner agencies
• On-time and on-budget delivery of campaigns & programs including planning, client presentations, tracking, execution and reporting.
• Client relationship building, and client and stakeholder management including anticipating and managing potential challenges.
• Ensure ongoing and trusted two-way communications with clients; Ownership of client satisfaction.
• Contribute to client strategy and program plan including providing innovative ideas, exploring new opportunities for client success, and continuous improvement.
• Provide regular and timely communication with campaign teams and project manager throughout the project/campaign process.
• Resource planning and delegation to project manager and other team members.
• Provide a strong and informed point of view on how the brand should behave and capture opportunities for growth that exist in the market
• Lead the capture and synthesis of different campaign plans ensuring cohesiveness across the department
• Construct campaign rollout plans, navigate and build social and digital ecosystems and daily management of accounts
• Use platform and audience insights to contribute to the execution of best-in-class paid media campaigns
• Manage day-to-day duties on campaigns, including working with suppliers, building partnerships, executing media plans and gathering real-time feedback for campaign optimization
Minimum Requirements
• Seven (7) years of experience, ideally in an agency environment
• Passionate about advertising, marketing and communications
• Proficiency in Office Suite, Google Docs, Meltwater, Slack messaging platform and MailChimp
• Hands-on experience and/or knowledge of Google Analytics , Crazy Egg, Google AdWords, Comscore, Adobe Marketing Cloud, IBM Waston Business Analytics, Neilsen Vivadata, PEW Research, Meltwater, Facebook & Twitter Analytics
• Experience in SEO
• Experience working on brand, acquisition and loyalty marketing programs and campaigns
• Ability to package information in clear, concise and impactful ways
• Excellent at summarizing and making complex information accessible
• Adept at creating dashboards from multiple sources of data
• Social marketing and platform development and strategy (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Yelp, etc.) is a must
• Quantitative and qualitative research knowledge
• Knowledge of technological, cultural and media trend forecasting and best practices
• Ability to lead briefs and campaigns from inception to completion
• Experience managing budgets and tracking spends across multiple platforms
• Able to work within a dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities
• Thorough understanding of the brand, culture, the consumer and the market
• Collaborative with the ability to build on ideas
• Highly motivated, adaptable and open
• Experience with Direct Marketing
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours as required, including some evenings and weekends
