Tinopolis is the parent company of Magical Elves and A. Smith & Co. Productions where skilled and motivated people focus on developing and producing quality reality television programming. Our productions include critically acclaimed television shows such as Top Chef and American Ninja Warrior.
As a Director, Business & Legal Affairs, you will be responsible for handling business affairs and legal matters surrounding the development and production of numerous television shows.
Job Responsibilities:
This attorney will be responsible for business affairs and legal matters during the course of both development and production: including negotiating and drafting Network license agreements, acquisition, co-production, indemnity and development agreements, advising production on clearance matters; drafting and obtaining releases; negotiating and drafting talent/crew, venue and vendor agreements; advising production on guild and union requirements; overseeing the binding of insurance; preparing contestant applications, contestant agreements and series rules, and evaluating rights/chain of title issues. You will be responsible for overseeing several projects in various stages of development and production at the same time. You will interface regularly with the executive producers and production executives for the Tinopolis' shows in development and production, and will serve as liaison between the production staff, corporate and the Network's legal department.
Qualifications:
¥ JD and California State Bar membership required
¥ Minimum 5 years of actual transactional legal experience
¥ Minimum 5 years of television production legal experience and/or business affairs experience
¥ The above includes actual hands on reality production experience at a television production company, Network or comparable experience within an entertainment law firm

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, which will enable him/her to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships at all levels both within and outside the organization; have an effective problem-solving approach; have strong negotiation skills and excellent drafting and analytical skills; be highly self-motivated, be personable, work well with others, have excellent judgment, be well-organized and have a strong work ethic.
