We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Creative Print Services in Burbank, CA.
The Creative Print Services Manager will work closely with the Director of Creative Print Services in managing and fulfilling the print production of marketing materials across departments for live action films of The Walt Disney Company. The brands will include all live action brands including Disney, Disneynature, Marvel and Lucasfilm.
Responsibilities
• Be the liaison between our creative team, production team and vendors to manage workflow of our media buys for outdoor, in-theatre and various specialty projects across multiple departments in marketing. Serve as a point of contact for production related elements.
• Responsible for overseeing print production schedules, print specifications and some maintaining of budget organization including bids, invoice matching and budget support.
• Manage multiple projects that will require bids, facilitating creative designs, overseeing production with an agency and fulfilling print items.
• Experience with junior design duties when needed, must be able to manipulate fully layered Photoshop files and understand how to manipulate them without tampering with the original key art file when working on small jobs. Also, will need to print Epson proofs for color matching from large finished files.
• Responsible to oversee press checks only when Director is not available or is at a different press check that is scheduled on the same day.
• Manage incoming creative review requests to help facilitate approvals, revises or route to the appropriate person for approval in a timely manner. Also, will need to submit all production layouts for legal approval.
• Establish project schedules for creative due dates on each film for multiple formats and maintain on-time accountability. Traffic projects and alert team to any timely needs. Must work closely with other manager in group so she's aware of production's timelines.
• Work with the internal creative team and external agencies in order to manage project quality and expectations, including design specifications and timelines.
• Responsible for proofing and be able to notice flaws in design elements like kerning, heavy darkening, mistakes in the art, spelling errors and other production elements in the proofing process. Facilitate revises as the Director sees fit.
• Research materials and print processes to acquire unique print opportunities on specialty projects.
• Initiate requests for competitive bids and help provide POs when appropriate.
• Work with the internal creative team and external agencies in order to manage project quality and expectations, including design specifications and timelines.
• Request art downloads from printers and agencies and help maintain internal asset system and upload assets and revise elements within the system.
• Distribute files and assets as necessary, especially highly sensitive materials for Marvel and LucasFilm.
• Keep all assets and files for print production organized on internal server. Help create a system for easy organization so co-workers can find files as needed.
• Work closely with other manager in the department to oversee likeness approvals, finishing approvals and file deliveries when other manager is away on vacation or photo shoots.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
Basic Qualifications
• 5 years production experience required with a thorough understanding of the pre-press and printing processes, preferably in entertainment.
• Ability to evaluate color is required, especially when on press checks.
• Must have a creative background dealing with art and artists.
• Computer skills required – MAC: Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and Keynote. Proficiency needed with Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design.

• Candidate must have consistent follow-through ability to traffic communication and ensure project accuracy.
• Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Candidate must be flexible, open-minded and patient with a high sense of urgency, but able to keep extremely calm under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
• Marketing/Advertising experience highly desirable.
• Graphic Design background and experience working with large Photoshop files and knowledge of graphic terminology strongly desired.
• Experience interfacing with high-level executive and/or filmmakers highly desirable.
Required Education
• BA/BS degree required.
