The Creative Resources Manager is responsible for managing the resources required to produce stunning visualization for some of the most high profile movies, commercials, as well as interactive and theme park experiences in production at The Third Floor. The Creative Resources Manager must have a strong analytical and planning background to coordinate the current and future needs for resources within the business. The main focus for this position will be the scheduling of artists in conjunction with show production schedules, as well as maximizing productivity and capacity based on effective project management. This role is vital to ensure successful and efficient resource planning; maintaining the best utilization of artists across all projects and forecasting resource needs for future work.
Primary responsibilities:
Analyze and assess casting needs for current and future projects
Work with Senior Production and HR to schedule artists for projects based on their strengths and career path
Ensure all projects are scheduled/cast correctly to set them up for success. This includes analyzing available artists, matching artists to the most fitting projects, and negotiating with Supervisors and Senior Production
Work with Senior Production to keep apprised of current show needs in addition to maximizing billable artists and minimize overhead. Ensure all shows are scheduled to approved bids
Review and assess the potential casting risks and opportunities and work with Senior Production to be proactive in planning
Understand and embrace the financial and logistical challenges the role presents
Manage the weekly casting meetings and present current data and proposals for casting/scheduling issues
Produce weekly Recruitment projections and Artist Contract End Date reports for HR and Recruitment
Produce weekly Overhead and Casting reports to Management
Work with Senior Production and Coordinators to ensure timely delivery of actuals and standard reporting methods
Be proactive and work with senior production to solve casting issues
Work with Business Development and Senior Production to compose hypothetical projections based on various scenarios
Manage scheduling and distribution of artists across shows to maximize client satisfaction and every project's profitability
Desired Skills/Experience:
Experience in a role focused on resource/operational planning within a multi-project, fast-paced environment with exposure to and experience in: Resource Management/Scheduling and Planning/ Project Management
Experience within a VFX Film Production facility would be ideal however not essential
Ability to be flexible and react calmly in a changing environment
A self-starter with exceptional critical thinking and analytical abilities and excellent communication skills
Great interpersonal skills, able to demonstrate the ability to build and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders within the business
Advanced MS Excel skills
Familiarity with FileMaker Pro and/or other database and resource management software is a plus
