Overview

The SPT UK kids channel brands including POP, Tiny Pop and POP Max, currently deliver the number 1 commercial kids channel portfolio in the UK reaching almost 3 million children every month and boast some of the biggest kids programming brands in the UK.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a marketing professional who has a passion for and understanding of the multi-channel television and ever important on demand market in the UK and who will develop and implement marketing strategies that will deliver audience growth for the UK kids channels and support the continued growth of a Sony networks portfolio business in the UK.
The Senior Marketing Manager post will be responsible for leading the marketing strategy for the kids' channels within the portfolio working in tandem with a second Senior Marketing Manager, as well as programming and creative managers across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of an annual marketing budget and the management of key third party relationships/service contracts including PR and Media Planning/Buying.
Key Responsibilities include:
• To develop and implement marketing and communication strategies which will maximize the effectiveness of the marketing budget and deliver growth in audience share and reach to the channel and digital portfolio
• To negotiate best market terms for media space/air-time and agency services
• To oversee and be responsible for the effective delivery and direction of third party agency services according to contract and brief – e.g.: Creative and Media Agencies
• To plan, recommend and implement best use of the marketing budget to achieve optimum results
• Work in partnership and collaboration with senior colleagues across the UK business including Commercial Director, Creative Director and Programme Directors/Managers/Heads, ensuring off-air messaging is consistent with on-air briefs and messaging
• To liaise with other territory teams and central SPT marketing teams (EMEA/Global)
• To oversee/organise special events, press/product launches, talent tours, etc.
• To contribute and participate in strategy for business growth as necessary and as directed by line manager
• To produce written promotion, sales and corporate presentations/tools for GM/Senior Manager/Advertising clients/Sales
• To produce written briefs for agencies and third parties to ensure they deliver to brand values and support business
• Passion and demonstrable knowledge of kids programming and commercial/merchandising kids brand market. ii)Highly developed presentation and negotiating skills.
Qualifications
and/or Experience Required
• Marketing qualification preferred (degree standard)
• Typically 3 years broadcast marketing experience in the UK market. Kids entertainment marketing experience desired but not essential
• Passion and demonstrable knowledge of kids programming and commercial/ merchandising kids brand market
• Highly developed presentation and negotiating skills
• Deep knowledge of and demonstrable ability to develop and implement media planning strategies and understand audience research trends to optimize viewing reach and so deliver commercial targets
• Demonstrable experience of effective use of multi-media outlets to connect with target consumers and trade target groups
• Demonstrable creative thinking and/or design skills
• Knowledge of UK and international TV and multi-media marketplaces
• Experience of working with and managing third party service agencies
• Experience of managing a budget and effective contract/services negotiation
• Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Additional information
• This role will involve occasional travel
• This is part time, 3 days per week position to cover the maternity leave of another employee. Contract term will be for a fixed term 12 month period.
