Position Overview
Sony is looking for a leader to join the Crackle and PlayStation sales organization responsible primarily for Crackle Sales Development & Advertising Solutions including; sales package development, premium media plan strategy, integrated advertising solutions and custom marketing programs, national account sales strategy, client direct partnerships, ad solutions workflow and AE sales support.
This position is equal parts ad solutions and brand-specific sales packaging of Crackle Original programs. Based in Los Angeles and reporting directly to the National SVP of Ad Sales for Crackle, PlayStation and PlayStation Vue, this position will manage a team of 5 and will also work closely with cross functional leaders in Audience Marketing, Product, Originals Development & Programming. The ideal candidate will have a strong advertising and sales background coupled with a sophisticated knowledge of Original programming and the streaming TV and digital video advertising landscape.
Responsibility Overview
1- Custom Solutions for Originals & Premium Video Partnership Sales
• Develop brand and category-specific custom advertising solutions & integrated marketing packages around Crackle's award winning Original programming
• Design and implement a vertical sales channel approach for client direct partnerships
• Develop programs for secondary sales channels; build relationships including branded entertainment agencies, product placement agencies and talent/creative agencies
• Develop brand-specific sales solutions for branded entertainment program opportunities provided by Originals Marketing
2 - Ad Sales Strategy and Marketing
• Contribute to national advertising sales strategy & AE account execution of Crackle Originals and Programming in total account sales planning including identifying year around, market driven, themes for advertising revenue opportunities and develop vertical account strategies to take them to market
• Author the ad sales positioning for go-to-market activity for all general sales presentations key client engagements
• Identify and originate ad sales themes based on industry trends and create research-backed, solution-minded presentation materials to augment sales efforts
• Work as a partner and thought leader with media planning teams and cross functional leadership to create and prove ROI ad models for premium brands
• Create and manage the sales marketing activities that drive sales efforts including the sales web-site and all lead generation, the Upfront, CES, sales leadership speaking engagements
3-Sales Support Teams & Workflow
• Create and manage the sales support team and the overall support workflow for the national ad sales team relative to sales materials & collateral
• Work with Account Management teams to create consistent messaging and client scripts for delivery and client management of all ad solutions
4- Advertising Solutions
• Create sales positions & strategies based on overall sales value of Originals including research, ratings, brand performance and other measurability tools
• Manage the sales research budget and margin analysis for client campaigns
• Publish post campaign analysis with distinct insights and actionable recommendations to cross functional partners in Product, Operations, Marketing
• Align sales strategy and create tactics for ad solutions involving media measurement tools including DAR and VCE
• Work with Nielsen to ingest and position Nielsen products into ad solutions
Qualifications
• A market based understanding of how premium brands buy Original content, premium digital video and sponsorship based packages
• Strong understanding of digital video media planning
• Ability to communicate, and consult, with senior marketing leaders for premium brands
• Ability to position, package and merchandise complicated concepts and ideas in an easy to understand format
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Innate experience working in a cross functional matrix organization
• Minimum 5 years' experience working for a major media company, TV Network and/or streaming TV service
• Minimum 7 years' experience working in Ad Solutions and Ad Sales for a national sales organization
• Deep knowledge of media plan development and market price trends and how to package broader narratives around them
• Experience creating, packaging and selling branded entertainment
