Full Time Job
Responsibilities
• Create strategic media plans for tour, online and blog press for RED MUSIC rock artists
• Secure and arrange feature stories with print and online media
• Secure and arrange live show reviews with print and online media
• Secure and arrange album reviews with print and online media
• Arrange in-person interviews/performances with local TV (morning shows, evening news, and entertainment news programs) to publicize concert dates, album releases and promo tours
• Plan and implement blogger/press events to help maximize online artist presence and blogger support
• Accompanying artists and setting up press interviews at awards shows, red carpet events and music festivals
• Setting up and overseeing photo shoots and in-person interviews/meetings with artists
• Researching new media outlets for opportunities for both online and local coverage
• Networking and creating relationships with major press outlets
• Communicate regularly with artist managers about the progress of press campaigns including sending press reports and press clips on a timely basis
• Liaison with tour marketing department and local show promoters to coordinate tickets for live reviews, make arrangements for press photographers, and any on-site interviews at the venue in each tour market
• Manage and maintain press database, cultivating new and ongoing relationships with all press and media outlets
• Work collaboratively with all departments within RED MUSIC involved in the marketing and roll out of a project
Qualifications
• Music industry/publicity experience (minimum 2 year) / tour press experience a plus
• Genuine interest and prior experience working musical genres including pop, rock, urban
• Proficient w/ Microsoft Office, PRNewswire, Cision, Filemaker, Google Drive
• Highly motivated, positive, creative, energetic, ambitious and driven
• Self-starter, flexible, and is comfortable multi-tasking and working in a team
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong writing skills (ability to provide examples of work)
• Strong media relationships
