DESCRIPTION
Do you want to work for a rapidly growing, trend setting company? Do you want to be part of a creative, fun and collaborative work environment? We have an immediate opening for Event Planning Interns! Soko Inc, a Marketing & Special Events Agency, is seeking interns for the Fall Semester to write and edit Press Releases, develop Press Kits, create media story pitches and conduct follow up, assist the management of media interviews and on-site event execution. This is a great opportunity for you to build your portfolio and get hands-on creative job experience.
Applicants must be eligible to receive college credit for the internship. Candidates should be junior or senior students studying Journalism/Public Relations/Telecommunications/Mass Communications or related studies.
DUTIES
Write Press Releases and distribute to local and national media; make follow-up calls to media representatives.
Coordinate Press Kits.
Coordinate placement of newspaper, magazine, radio and online advertisements.
Work with Marketing Team to coordinate flyers, invitations, brochures, signage and other marketing collateral.
Create press clipping book and publicity or status reports.
Plan, develop and execute social media and online initiatives.
Track efforts and report results.
Assist the planning of special events including: researching & securing sponsors and vendors, identifying locations, identifying entertainment, and developing media plans/campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working towards a Bachelors Degree in Journalism/Public Relations/Telecommunications/Mass Communications.
Ability to Blog and make connections with other bloggers in related industries.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, MySpace)
Excellent writing, editing and grammar.
Perform various administrative tasks.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong desire to learn, contribute and think innovatively.
Demonstrated creative sense and ability with a focus on new trends and marketing.
