Location- Los Angeles, with required US based travel
Start date- November 15, 2017
End date- August 15, 2018
Status- Independent Contractor / First priority
Fee- compensation to commensurate with experience
Overview: Spearhead all projects needed for convention booths and event activations. This role will focus on physical execution and management of various Skybound initiatives taking place at Emerald City Comic Con, PAX East and San Diego Comic Con.
Reports to: Skybound's Franchise Producer
Responsibilities: Supervision of event preparations and operations. Duties shall include, but is not limited to, the following:
• Responsible for booth development, design, scheduling and planning with the Skybound Events team
• Oversee logistics, set-up and booth function for each convention, including onsite supervision
• Manage development, planning and location management for all planned convention activations
• Collaborate with Skybound's Franchise Producer, SVP Business Development and Director of Digital Programming to ensure top-level event activations are produced on schedule and within budget
• Responsible for hire of booth operation staff and event activation teams
• Coordinate with third party vendors required for event activations and booths
• Coordinate deals and contracts in collaboration / support of Skybound Executives and Producer
• Support development / production of merchandise giveaways
• Anticipating event needs to accommodate planning timelines
• Adherence to Company Policies and Guidelines
• Obtaining proper approvals at all stages of planning and operation
• Ongoing communication and updates to Franchise Producer
Ideal Candidates:
• 4+ years experience in Project or Event Management
• Keen understanding of the convention landscape
• Exceptional leadership, organization and communication skills
• Detail-oriented work style
• Logistical planning expertise
• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
• Skilled problem-solver
• Ability to simultaneously supervise a number of projects, in various stages of prep or operation
Work Requirements:
• Must be willing to travel for on-site supervision of events at Comic Conventions in Seattle (Emerald City), Boston (PAX East) and San Diego (SDCC)
