We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position works closely with the Controller. It is a busy and challenging desk, are you up for it? There are a few must haves in a candidate: 1) You must have held a staff accountant or a senior staff accountant position for 5 or more years; 2) You must have worked with product inventory (either in an accounting or analyst capacity); and 3) You must have worked for a consumer product company with revenue equal to or north of $50M. Position Reports to: Controller
Exemption Status: Exempt
Principle Responsibilities:
Daily inventory receipt, build, and transfer in the accounting system
Timely month, quarter and year-end adjusting and closing journal entries in NetSuite
Timely and accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations Timely filing of sales and use tax to various states
Preparation and reconciliation of various reports from distributors foreign and domestic (eg. Cinedigm, Universal Pictures US and Canada, Universal Music US, and MapleCore Canada); these reports will include sales, inventory, co-op ads, and monthly statements
Liaises with outside auditors for our annual audit and tax filing
Accurate 1099 annual reporting
Assists in the documentation and update of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Maintains and reconciles the subsidiary ledgers (eg. A/R, A/P and Inventory) to the general ledger
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years accounting experience at a small to mid-size consumer product company ($50M+ in revenue)
Must have experience working with inventory (manufacturing)
Must have a solid knowledge and understanding of GAAP
Must be an advanced Excel 2010 user
Must have experience using a top-tier accounting software, experience with NetSuite is preferred
