What you will be doing:
• The Broadcast Systems Engineer on duty shall respond to and correct all problems that arise pertaining to but not limited to the following BOC technical systems: Pebble Beach, Omnibus, Harmonic Spectrum servers, GV Intuition XG Graphics, LAWO LSB VSM control, and Evertz monitoring and switching systems.
• Repair, maintain and perform preventive maintenance on all system related equipment.
• Work in conjunction with the Operations and Transmissions team members to maintain the on-air signals.
• Provide technical support during on-going projects or day to day engineering requirements.
• Work with the team to learn and improve their overall knowledge of the ''on-air'' chain of equipment.
• Assist with training and coaching of staff members as needed.
• Be able to handle any necessary corrective action or repair for normal or emergency conditions to ensure that all services remain on the air.
• Provide input on equipment and procedures pertaining to the Engineering department.
• Log any pertinent information from their shift in the Daily log.
• Assist in maintaining parts inventory and ordering of equipment when necessary.
• Monitor broadcasts to ensure broadcasts are on the air and have proper quality of service.
• Maintain flexible work hours to handle technical & operational emergencies as needed
What you need to have:
• Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a broadcast facility.
• Experience with Pebble Beach automation, Omnibus, Harmonic Spectrum servers, Grass Valley Intuition XG graphics systems, LAWO LSB VSM control, and Evertz routing and monitoring systems a plus.
• Knowledge of computers, servers, data infrastructure including Ethernet and fiber in support of IP and communications protocols (Cisco switches and routers).
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to repair equipment when applicable down to the component level.
• Software application literacy with Microsoft Office suite including Visio.
• Computer literacy especially with Microsoft, Linux and MAC OS.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (50 lbs.).
It's a plus if you have:
• AS degree in electronics or computer science.
• Use of AutoCAD for documentation.
• SQL DB administration a plus
• Military or other significant experience/training can be substituted for degree requirements.
• SBE, CCNE or CCNA Certification.
