POSITION PURPOSE: The Assistant Executive Director, Dallas-Fort Worth, works closely with the Executive Director, Dallas-Fort Worth, to provide administrative, operational, educational and outreach support to the Locals served through the Dallas-Fort Worth Local office. This person will be expected to work productively with performers, agents, producers, various members of the industry, and Local and National staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works to support and cultivate member leadership, including work with Local boards and committees.
• Fields questions about contracts. Supports the administration and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements. Conducts research and creates reports related to contract initiatives.
• Assists in managing and projecting locals' budgets and other related financial matters.
• Performs administrative work as it relates to relevant locals, projects and other work as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains regular communications with SAG-AFTRA members including outreach, composing newsletters, print and email communications, and training and guidance.
• Helps to facilitate programming or workshops for members.
• Develops and maintains SAG-AFTRA's relationships with selected industry stakeholders and strategic partners, including SAG-AFTRA members and staff, entertainment unions, labor and community organizations (e.g., state and local affiliates of the AFL-CIO), etc.
• Works closely with member leadership and staff to help facilitate internal and external organizing efforts.
• Liaises or otherwise takes part in legislative advocacy efforts in connection with the state's film tax credit program and other legislative matters that may affect SAG-AFTRA members.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Advanced level of management experience and demonstrated leadership skills required to effectively manage and develop team and individual contributors.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in order to explain complex subject matter, promote collaboration and teamwork, build consensus, and persuade others
• Responsible; self-directed; pro-active; excellent follow-through.
• Fast learner to acquire sufficient, broad-based understanding of all relevant SAG-AFTRA contracts, and of the key priorities in the Locals to be served.
• Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively with various constituencies, including local members, Locals' and National staff.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Understanding of teamwork.
• Must have high level initiative and ability to work independently to handle responsibilities that are often unsupervised.
• Must be able to work creatively in a challenging environment where constructive suggestions/directions are encouraged.
• Ability to develop and make presentations.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: High degree of patience and tact, and must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.

• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree in relevant field from an accredited college/university and 5 years' applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• 5 -7 years' management/supervisory experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of entertainment industry, as well as issues affecting creative artists and professional workers, strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with problem solving and teamwork in an organizational setting.
