Full Time Job
Women’s Health is seeking an online graphic designer/photo researcher who will work with the design director in developing and maintaining the visual design for WomensHealthMag.com. This individual will need to be able to translate business requirements and editorial needs into imagery and designs that are visually engaging and that help elevate content. This person is expected to participate actively in a fun culture of innovation and teamwork. Ideal candidates will have excellent conceptual and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with editors, designers, and developers.
Responsibilities
include:
• Conducting daily photo research/illustration/editing
• Collaborating with editors on how to elevate content through visual media
• Designing banners, infographics, and more for WomensHealthMag.com, as well as its social media platforms and newsletters
• Taking projects from concept to completion, with a very strong attention to detail and quality
• Working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
• Working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects at once
Ideal candidate will possess:
• A minimum of 1 year digital design experience
• Strong abilities with Adobe programs (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator)
• Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of web technologies, including HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
• Strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images, illustration, and interactivity impact design
• Excellent communication, organizational, verbal, and written skills
• A proactive, self-starter attitude
• A demonstrated passion for online editorial design and illustration on a personal and professional level
Education:
College degree or equivalent experience
