Search for Live Event Technician jobs in West Lafayette-IN
Perform as a live event technician with a specialty in audio production. Provide live event production support in audio, lighting, video production, rigging and fly systems or stage carpentry for live events. Design, prepare, build, operate and remove complete event technology systems. Perform repair and maintenance of facilities and production equipment in specialty area. Assist in other areas as assigned.
Required:
High school diploma/GED.
Four years experience in live event production
Evidence of successful past experience as an event technician
Experience with corporate events, theatrical events, live music production, live video production or other applicable exposure to event technology
Demonstrate extensive experience or skill in desired specialty, as well as two additional event technology specialty areas
Experience working with technical crews and clients in fast paced show situations
Experience in making critical decisions quickly
Working knowledge of audio systems, lighting systems, video production systems, staging systems, rigging equipment and electrical power
Able to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights in excess of 70 feet and work atop scaffolding
Able to demonstrate mastery in audio, lighting, video production, rigging and fly systems and/or stage carpentry
Must be competent in event technology, maintain quality work standards, high productivity, and dependability
Strong interpersonal and intercultural relations, teamwork, and communication skills
Ability to teach, coach, delegate, plan, and perform technological research as necessary
Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to meet business needs
Valid driver's license required
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
Experience with CAD systems and basic computer programs preferred
Audio production skills and experience is highly preferred.
Additional Information:
This schedule for this position will be varied, based on events.
Overtime is as needed by events, up to 500 hours annually.
Purdue will not sponsor an employment related visa for this position.
A Background Check is required for employment in this position.
