Job Summary
Reporting to a Senior Managing Editor, the Editorial Assistant will assist with the following:
Managing and sorting email correspondence
Prioritizing press releases and event coverage for writers and editors
Tracking monthly quotas for staff writers
Proofreading recently posted exclusive content, interviews, and general news articles
Monitoring the website and social media accounts for errors, formatting bugs, etc.
Creating basic reports of monthly website visits and social media analytics
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, able to complete assigned tasks thoroughly, and have a willingness to learn.
Qualifications/Prerequisites
A minimum of 8-10 hours per week
Successful experience working collaboratively within a complex environment to establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve stated goals
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Bonus knowledge, but not required
Familiarity with Wordpress (and CMS in general) and/or HTML
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive applications
Experience tracking and organizing social media metrics
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to write stories for the website and attend red carpet events if you excel at this role. College credit and/or references available upon completion of internship.
