Full Time Unpaid Internship
Are you interested in learning more about Information Systems or display technology? Do family members call you when they have a computer or TV setup problem? Have you ever taken your computer apart or built one yourself? If so, Pixar's Production Support Team wants to hear from you!
Pixar Systems offers an exciting internship program geared towards students wanting to pursue a career in Information Technology. The Display Team is responsible for calibrating and deploying displays throughout the Studio. The internship is intended to provide valuable hands-on experience and exposure to our unique environment. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from working professionals!
During this 12-week summer internship, the Monitor Support Intern will work in collaboration with production support engineers and the monitor desktop team to achieve the following:
• Gain knowledge in the installation of displays within the desktop computer environment, including complex setups involving several monitors, computers, and peripherals for a single user
• Gain knowledge in troubleshooting and hardware and connectivity issues
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with monitor and workstation deployments
• Assist with diagnosing and fixing problems within desktop environment
• Assist with special projects
• Assist with the day-to-day hardware support as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Highly motivated, mature and eager to be part of our team
• Technically inclined and curious about how things work
• Flexible nature with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Positive 'can do' attitude while maintaining a high-level of professionalism
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer-service and follow-through
• The ability to lift and move equipment
• Some exposure to Unix preferred
ELIGIBILITY:
• Must be at least a junior in college working towards a Bachelor's degree or greater; Recent grads who are within one year of graduation are also eligible to apply
• Must provide a short personal statement (200 words or less) explaining specifically why you are interested in Information Systems at Pixar
• Must be available to work full-time Mon – Fri for 12-weeks between June 2018 – August 2018
