OSF is searching for a skilled Costume Director for this $37M organization, currently building 11 shows annually in its nationally acclaimed seasons of Shakespeare, classics and commissioned work.
Reporting to the Director of Production, the Costume Director manages a staff of 50+; creates/manages the costume schedule, budgets and workflow for each season; creates/manages training programs; collaborates/communicates with and schedules residencies of costume designers; works collaboratively with production departments, administration and other internal stakeholders; monitors tech rehearsals; provides vision and leadership for planning of costume facility, personnel, equipment for future seasons; participates in season planning; represents the department and organization as needed; leads, supports and promotes OSF's deep commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Successful candidates will have a commitment towards and significant experience with equity, diversity and inclusion issues; excellent leadership, communication, diplomatic, problem solving, listening and personnel management skills; significant experience in costume construction and/or comparable creative field; expertise managing creative teams; knowledge/comfort with computer systems; collaborative style; unflagging enthusiasm and sense of humor.
