Claude Coleman, Jr. (the artist) is the drummer for platinum selling music group Ween and front man for Amandla. The personal intern is responsible for providing full administrative support to the artist. This is ideal for an undergraduate studying for a career in the music industry. The position offers a wealth of experience & connections at every tier of the industry. You won't be stuffing envelopes and grabbing coffee. You'll gain experience and connections giving you a leg up in the industry.
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between a wide array of contacts including senior management, tour management, agents, publicists, publishers, outside industry contacts and other artists
- Schedule meetings for the artist, arrange travel, and answer phones as needed for the team
- Prepare artist expense reports in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
- Maintain files, promotional product, archives, and other assets for the artist
- Order and maintain music product and office supplies on behalf of the artist's or management
- Help coordinate and manage budgets for artist
- Attend meetings, concerts, and events as required
- Provide creative input and ideas on projects
- Website maintenance and listserv correspondence.
- Identify and communicate concerns to management
- Assist with management of the artist's Virgin Islands focused hurricane relief non-profit
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Music Management, Music Business, Publicity, Entertainment Business or related field
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess creativity and flexibility.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Google docs, sheets, and calendar
- A proactive, flexible, self-starter who has strong problem solving, social, writing and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage time and priorities, set and achieve goals and juggle multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
- Must have a passion for music
