Special Events Assistant

Description:
The Oakland Athletics Marketing department are currently seeking a Full-Time hourly Special Events Assistant. This position will report directly to the Director of Special Events. The Special Events Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning of all Oakland A's special events and hospitality. Special Events are defined as events held outside the ballpark, but may include select game day events. The Special Event Assistant will also work on various event-related projects.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the planning, production, and execution of Special Events and hospitality
• Manage and update department calendar
• Research, create and maintain multiple department databases
• Data Entry and detailed logging of event details
• Collaborate and work cross-functionally with various departments within the organization
• Become a great partner and resource for internal team, venues and vendor
• Ability to work independently and contribute in a team environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 1 – 2 years of experience in sports and/or event planning
• Knowledge of sports, baseball and events preferred
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Immediate availability and able to work flexible full-time hours, which may include weekends, holidays, and after business hours
• Can commute to events throughout the local area and travel out-of-area to Spring Training
• Proficient in various software and applications including but not limited to:
o Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Vizio, etc.)
o Adobe (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
o Google System (sheets, docs, forms, map, etc.)
