Communications Seasonal Assistant

Description:
The Oakland Athletics are seeking a qualified candidate for the Baseball Communications Seasonal Assistant position during the 2018 season. This position will work 30-40 hours per week when the team is home and 5-10 hours per week when the team is on the road, including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities:
• Produce daily insert for the A's game program
• Produce lineup sheet to be distributed in press box and premium seating areas
• Produce daily minor league report
• Copy and distribute all relevant game day baseball information documents, including but not limited to game notes, statistics, minor league report, stat packets, and lineup sheets
• Assist with writing of daily pre- and/or post-game notes
• Assist baseball communications staff with all duties related to press box maintenance, including but not limited to creating daily seating chart, creating and setting up seat tags for visiting media, and providing support for both home and visiting broadcast teams
• Assist with writing and distributing press releases
• Assist with distribution of credentials on game days
• Record and transcribe media scrums as assigned, including daily pregame session with the A's manager
Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
• Highly organized with an ability to multi-task
• Advanced knowledge of baseball and baseball statistics
