One of America's largest independent production companies seeks a dynamic, self-motivated Receptionist and Development Researcher for a busy New York City production office. This individual will manage all incoming calls and visitors, and assist the development team with new and existing projects. Candidates should have a strong interest in TV development and production. This is a great opportunity to learn from seasoned industry professionals and gain exposure to the TV development process.
Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with the development team on various projects, reporting directly to the VP of Development
Assist the development team with all aspects of development, including the brainstorming of new projects, casting assistance, research, writing treatments, and outreach
Serve as the front desk receptionist, helping to guide and welcome all guests
Cover office phones with high call volume, direct calls, and answer queries
Deal with vendors and work with the Office Manager to maintain a smoothly running office
Job Requirements
A desire to learn more about TV development and casting
Must have excellent phone manner, be outgoing, and possess strong communication & people skills
Excellent research skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
Resourcefulness, and an ability to think outside of the box
Ability to juggle many tasks and manage time well
Must be proactive and enthusiastic
Ability to work well on a team, as well as individually
Strong work ethic, punctual, reliable and dependable
Previous knowledge and work with InDesign is a plus, but not required.
Previous reception and/or development experience is a plus, but not required.
Bachelor's Degree required.
