Job Summary
The YouTube Fan Engagement Freelancer will join the growing YouTube Content Strategy & Development team, responsible for connecting with fans across our Nickelodeon channel and throughout the YouTube ecosystem in the New York office. This position maintains the brand voice for Nickelodeon, responds to comments, answers questions, and creates conversations among Nick fans. The Fan Engagement Freelancer must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a creative thinker. Our ideal Fan Engagement Freelancer is a strong and passionate writer - able to create exciting and original content - and also able to identify new conversation opportunities through proactive listening. This position would be from September '17 to April '18, supporting the platform during two Nickelodeon tentpole events, the HALO Awards and the Kids' Choice Awards across our YouTube channel.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
• Management of Nickelodeon YouTube Channel - including moderation and brand-to-consumer engagement.
• Drafting and maintaining content calendars and schedules, in partnership with Senior Marketing Manager, to align with brand priorities and opportunities.
• Ideating and implementing original engagement tactics and short form content ideas, in accordance with the strategy and creative teams.
• Analyzing engagement performance and compiling key learnings to format into executive-facing reports.
• Escalation of issues, observations, opportunities, and YouTube community insights.
• Partnering with the other Social Media Managers to share intel and create cross-platform opportunities.
• Staying on top of YouTube engagement best practices and distributing weekly team reports.
• Manage relationship with our moderation company and escalate brand issues.
• Find Nickeldeon fans and makers outside of our channel to partner with.
Knowledge And Skills Required:
• Writer at Heart: Copywriting experience in creative marketing capacity is preferred.
• In the Know: Excellent knowledge of social media/YouTube trends.
• Talk the Talk: Excellent communication skills, able to articulate new ideas and tactics in written and verbal scenarios; innovative in nature, always looking for new ways to communicate ideas
• Crunching the Numbers: Desire to identify key optimizations for content and adaptation to emerging consumer trends
• Self-Start Mentality: Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, without identified direction and/or responsibilities
Qualifications
• Experience in community management and/or social media marketing
• Proficient with major social media platforms
• Knowledge of social media analytics tools
• Ability to interact and work with various personalities and a range of management levels internally and externally
• Highly organized
• Self-starter
• Excellent writing/communication skills
