Full Time Job
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Director will manage a team of marketers responsible for go-to-market activity in the United States, Canada Australia and New Zealand. This role will focus specifically on managing marketing and media campaigns across our diverse slate of documentary films and series as well as comedy stand-up specials. This person will play a vital role in defining the Netflix brand, launching Netflix originals, and creating regional stunts to grow Netflix subscribers and viewing in 4 key markets.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Netflix Documentary & Comedy team to understand, prioritize, and lead strategy on all incoming projects
• Lead internal teams in developing innovative cross-functional marketing strategies for title launches
• Work directly with our internal buying teams and media agency to create and adapt media campaigns
• Lead regional campaign planning between creative teams, media agency, and operational team to drive flawless execution of campaigns.
• Seek unique opportunities that build earned media in the marketplace
• Oversee the development of unique activations that bring the Netflix originals experience to life for consumers in new and different way
• Help to define the overall Netflix marketing strategy with the leadership team
• Invest and innovate in the newest types of digital executions with key partners (eg: Facebook & Google)
• Develop highly innovative digital campaigns that break new ground for industry standards
• Work closely to monitor campaign performance and optimize campaigns
Qualifications:
• Can flourish in our unique company culture
• Natural team leadership skills with the ability to conceptualize and articulate a marketing strategy on a consistent basis
• Experience and passion for building great marketing programs and product launches preferably in the entertainment marketing space
• Fluency in managing large scale media budgets responsibly and flexibly for a range of programs that span brand to direct response activity
• An ability to effectively provide input on creative development from a local market perspective
• Experience managing highly motivated direct reports in an environment that embraces individual momentum rather than process driven group thinking
• Solid digital skills and fluency in the digital space with understanding of the various digital buying environments
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong level of independence and efficiency
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• At least 10 years experience in a marketing role
• Love of documentary and/or comedy genres preferred
• Bachelor's degree
• Advanced degree (preferred)
