With 110 million streaming members in over 190 countries, we use insights and intuition to understand what makes a Netflix fan and then build marketing campaigns that get them excited enough to come and watch.
We are actively promoting our original, exclusive content that is core to everything we do.
We are looking to fill an integral role on the global creative marketing team for a Director of Global Creative Marketing. This is a great opportunity to join a team that leads the development and launch of innovative marketing campaigns across a diverse range of Original Series. This particular team will operate as part of our UK office and partner with the UK marketing team.
The Role
This role is unique. So is the right candidate.
As the number of UK based Netflix productions have grown, so has the need for a global creative marketer based in London. In this role, you will lead campaign strategy, execution and launch tactics for global series produced in the UK. Experience working with British talent/filmmakers and a knowledge of the UK entertainment industry is a must. Digital and Social media experience is critical. You will be a member of a small, seasoned and nimble group of professionals based in our London office, but working closely with our team in Hollywood.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a proven track record of building world-class creative and launching global marketing/social campaigns for premium entertainment properties that drive earned media and create a passionate following.
• Has deep knowledge in running a 360-campaign, from strategy development to tactical execution (including AV/trailers, digital/social, print and out-of-home).
• Has a native understanding of earned media in a digital world with an emphasis on social platforms, mobile, video and display and an ability to tell stories through great ideas regardless of medium.
• Has deep knowledge of/experience with the UK entertainment landscape and local agency partners that can help deliver the best creative thinking.
• Is a cross-functional leader who is able to engage, listen and collaborate with internal departments/teams to align early on in terms of overall strategy and goals, and to see the cross-functional collaboration through launch.
• Aggressively uses data and insights to develop, track and react to consumer discussion.
• Is able to effectively communicate different facets of their campaigns to executives, showrunners, talent and talent representatives.
• Has exposure to working on global campaigns, with reach in the UK and internationally. This person should have a global IQ and be familiar with working with teams from different regional markets.
• Has a good understanding of marketing and media analytics and how to apply data to test and optimize campaigns.
• Appreciates technology and can collaborate with our world class product team to integrate our multi-title campaigns within the member product experience.
• Is a pop-culturist who understands how to connect Netflix and title campaigns to current events and culture.
• Is an effective team leader and manager in a fast paced, multifaceted environment. Your team will have multiple launch campaigns happening at once.
Core Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of managers to success on upcoming global series launch campaigns -- from strategy development to creative execution, production and long-tail social community management and development.
• Position and develop the strategic framework around Original series and execute based on that strategy.
• Act as the primary external showrunner contact and cross-functional liaison amongst internal teams (across region-based Marketing teams, Consumer PR, Publicity and Social). Focus on managing workflow and being able to socialize, absorb, organize and address cross-functional feedback (where possible).
• Support your team in their role as the main point of contact with agencies - giving feedback to agencies based on internal conversations (being willing to experiment when warranted).
• Shepherd scope, budget, and overall campaign resources.
Qualifications:
• 7-10 years of experience at an entertainment marketing department, network/studio marketing team, or entertainment creative agency working on title launch campaigns that generate earned media (in strategy, Digital, Print and AV creative).
• Deep understanding of organic social products across all major platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.
• Strong knowledge of the UK entertainment industry and UK agency partners. It's important that this person be deeply embedded in the industry and know the best local agencies to partner with.
• Experience managing and leading teams in a fast paced and relationship focused environment.
• Experience managing a high volume of campaign types in parallel, while collaborating with diverse, geographically-dispersed teams.
• Strong communication and analytical skills along with the ability to think strategically and creatively and a reasonable appreciation for the unknown.
• International experience (or experience in working with international teams) preferred.
• University Degree in related field preferred.
• Passion for television and movies is a must.
