THE OPPORTUNITY

Netflix seeks an experienced real estate attorney to handle a wide array of responsibilities related to production and corporate real estate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Structure, negotiate and draft stage and production facilities, storage, construction mill, office space, warehouse and parking lease and license agreements for series and feature production.
- Support the global facilities team on corporate real estate matters, including structuring and negotiating leases, advising on compliance issues relating to leases, land use and real estate generally, and partnering with tax, finance and other cross-functional teams to implement real estate transactions.
- Advise on short term lease and license agreements for the domestic and international production teams (series and film) regarding real estate needs (e.g., production stage and office space).
- Partner with the studio operations team on forecasting, planning and evaluating growth related to domestic and international sound stages, facilities and office space.
- Advise and consult with the operations, finance and accounts payable teams on real estate fees, payments and receivables due.
- Advise production operations team on agreements related to construction, architects and environmental evaluations.
- Partner with and manage domestic and international outside counsel with respect to both corporate and production real estate transactions.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have at least seven years of legal experience as a real estate attorney, preferably at both a top real estate law firm and as in-house counsel with both domestic and international experience. Experience with television and film production preferred.
The successful candidates will also possess the following:
- J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
- Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented.
- Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
