Full Time Unpaid Internship
We are looking for a smart, fast-thinking intern to bring ideas and energy to the new 7-member team that covers education and learning for NPR.
NPR Ed focuses on how learning happens in America, through radio stories, blog posts, and multimedia and social media content. You will be reporting to NPR's Senior Education Editor, who leads the team's daily and long-term efforts.
You will work with all the members of the team, researching stories, pitching new ideas, writing for the NPR Ed site and helping correspondents line up interviews and sources for their stories.
We are looking for people passionate about education and this job will involve real hands-on experience. It's an opportunity for you to bring curiosity and ideas, to work as part of a team and to help us meet tight deadlines online and on-air.
Responsibilities:
Duties include researching a wide variety of topics relating to education and learning, booking interviews, researching possible stories, writing blog posts, and assisting network correspondents with production.
Qualifications:
Accuracy is a must. A keen intellectual curiosity and creative stripe are highly desired. Experience in a newsroom or in audio production (or both) are pluses, as is an interest in or knowledge of education issues.
Please do not apply for more than 3 internships.
