Full Time Unpaid Internship
Responsibilities NBCUniversal International is offering a number of 12-month Post-Production & Creative internship positions within various business divisions, including NBCUniversal International Networks and Universal Pictures International (UPI).
As an Intern, you will be supporting a fast-paced team whilst developing your own skills. You will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to your department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in Post-Production & Creative. Qualifications/Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exact responsibilities will vary slightly between each division and team, however the main responsibilities of any Post-Production & Creative Intern will include:
• Reversioning, encoding and logging of various file types
• Evaluating media content quality and suggesting ways to improve quality control
• Editing and cutting footage to broadcast standard
• Liaising with internal/external stakeholders at various levels on a regular basis
• Contributing to ad-hoc projects, which may include conducting research and writing/proofreading copy
• Collating various reports and updates for distribution as appropriate
• Maintaining calendar of events, adjusting according to changes in schedules
• Providing admin support to the team and additional support to the necessary Directors/VPs as required
Education
and Qualifications
You will ideally be currently studying a degree-level or equivalent course, specialising in Film, Television or Media-related subjects, seeking a 12 month internship
Essential
• A passion for Broadcasting and Media (particularly an interest in film and/or TV) with a desire to develop a career in Editing & Post-Production
• Proactive and enthusiastic, with ability to work autonomously to deadlines, take initiative and keep calm under pressure
• Working knowledge of Avid, Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere
• Analytical with outstanding attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively prioritise and manage workload
• Self-starter and fast learner, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team
• Strong office administration and IT skills; confident user of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly and responsibly
• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; confident in communication with senior management
• Willingness to learn and ''can-do'' attitude
Desirable
• An understanding of anti-piracy and the importance of content protection
• Working knowledge of tape dubbing between multiple formats such as HDCAM SR / D5 / DIGIBETA / HDV / DVCAM
• Proficiency and understanding of professional tape formats
• Experience in creating and editing of short-form work
• Previous work experience in a similar environment
Requirements
• Fluent English is essential; additional languages may be useful
