Full Time Unpaid Internship
Responsibilities NBCUniversal International is offering a number of 12-month Finance internship positions within various business divisions, including NBCUniversal International, NBCUniversal International Studios, NBCUniversal International Networks and Universal Pictures International (UPI), starting in Summer 2018.
As an Intern, you will be working with a team of qualified professionals who have extensive knowledge of the media industry. You will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to your department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in Finance within the Media industry. Qualifications/Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exact responsibilities will vary slightly between each division and team, however the main responsibilities of any Finance Intern will typically include:
• Supporting the team with month and quarter end tasks as required
• Liaising with different departments locally and internationally in territories across the world, third party outsource providers and other parts of the business
• Supporting the team to deliver detailed and accurate financial estimates for budget and forecasting purposes
• Taking ownership of designated reporting, ensuring up to date and accurate information is available to the relevant team in a timely manner
• Completing/assisting with account reconciliations
• Liaising with other finance teams as appropriate
• Ad hoc project work
FP&A:
• Collecting data from different media sources to track performance
• Accurately analyse and present information to teams based in LA and London
• Provide analytics and reviews relating to future international releases to aid decision making
• Revenue forecasting and risk analysis
Controllership:
• Providing analytics and reviews as necessary; partnering with Analysts to deliver quarterly reporting
• Preparing and consolidating reports, including consolidation of debtors for the Balance Sheet Review
• Maintaining system interfaces to align business processes
Education
and Qualifications
You will ideally be currently studying a degree-level or equivalent course, specialising in Finance, Management, Economics or Business-related subjects, seeking a 12 month internship
Essential
• A passion for Broadcasting and Media (particularly an interest in film and/or TV) with a desire to develop a career in Finance within the Media industry
• Proactive and enthusiastic, with ability to work autonomously to deadlines, take initiative and keep calm under pressure
• Analytical with outstanding attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively prioritise and manage workload
• Self-starter and fast learner, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team
• Strong office administration and IT skills; confident/advanced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
• Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly and responsibly
• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; confident in communication with senior management
• Ability to analyse and present financial data
• Willingness to learn and ''can-do'' attitude
• Strong academic record with minimum C grade in Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent)
Desirable
• Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial
• Previous work experience in a similar environment
Requirements
• Fluent English is essential; additional languages may be useful
