Responsibilities The Position:
The exciting position of Director, Human Resources will play an important role in the organization dedicated to supporting the Feature Animation production through: staffing, coaching, mentoring, providing compensation guidance, organizational and management development, implementation of HR programs, conflict management, and other hands-on activities. Responsibilities will be both strategic and tactical, focused on supporting several hundred Production employees. You will provide HR support, anticipate employee and organizational issues and make recommendations and implement solutions to attract, motivate, engage, develop and retain employees. The Director, Human Resources reports directly into the VP, Human Resources of DreamWorks Feature Animation based on the DreamWorks campus in Glendale, CA.

Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
• Provide forward thinking HR support for DreamWorks Feature Animation production group
• Partner with VP, HR to develop and drive the people strategy by developing and executing on various HR initiatives across DWA Feature Animation
• Be a values and culture champion
• Partner with and advise production supervisors/managers, animation union representatives and key stakeholders on recommendations and solutions related to production staff
• Act as a strategic partner to production staff and leaders executing HR-related planning, organization design & integration, staffing, compensation planning, manager coaching, employee development and performance management
• Work closely with our Labor Relations teams to effectively support a large union represented population, ensuring compliance and top notch client service
• Proactively identify, gather and leverage data and analytics to tell a compelling story to business leaders and inform decisions
• Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment; encouraging the full use of diverse talent and abilities; act as an employee advocate.
• Manage staffing process working with clients and our internal talent acquisition team to identify recruitment strategies as well as ensure diverse candidate slates and top quality candidate selection
• Liaises with Feature Animation Artistic Mgmt & Production as well as Business Affairs to ensure the talent and casting goals of the business are met and staffing ideas are supported Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Minimum of 10 years of professional HR experience

• Previous experience working in production environment and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of positions (production staff, management, production departments, etc.) desired.
• Previous Employee Relations/Labor Relations experience
• Strategic thinker – proven ability to put in place proactive multi-faceted HR strategies for a global, dynamic business
• Subject matter expertise on California and Federal employment practices, policies, legal & EEOC guidelines, as well as compensation, wage and hour, and CA benefits administration
• Sense of humor and 'can do' approach
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and work in fast-paced, constantly-changing work environment
• Strong coaching, consultative, and organizational design skills
• Strong business acumen, exceptional communication and presentation skills. Analytical skills combined with a clear and direct communication style
• Experience with Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, SAP HRIS preferred
• Demonstrated ability to translate 'big picture' business strategy into an executable HR plan
• Strong business partnership skills: able to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders. Exceptional influencing skills coupled with a deep understanding of the business and talent within it
• Must have ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities
• Prior media/television/content industry experience preferred
• Graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field and/or PHR/SPHR certified preferred
