• This posting is for the Spring 2018 internship program, the program generally runs from January through May
• This is not a posting for Summer 2018 internships
• The internship is in person at our office in San Francisco, CA
• Cover Letters are required and should be addressed to the NBC Sports Internship Program
• Internships at NBCUniversal are paid and do not require course credit
• Application deadline is November 20, 2017, interested candidates should apply by this date
• You must meet the basic qualifications to be considered for the internship *Please review the basic qualifications carefully
• Recent graduates will NOT be eligible for this program
• Please note: NBCUniversal prohibits interns from participating in any other internship programs while employed by NBCUniversal without written permission from the Vice President, Human Resources NBC Sports Regional Networks, or a successor/designee.
Spring 2018 Internships are available with the below departments:
• Marketing (Marketing, Special Events, Public Relations, On-Air Marketing Promotions)
• Sales
• Digital Media
• Finance
• Production -- Areas of Production listed below. To apply, indicate that your area of interest is ''Production'' and then specify what department you are applying to in the subject of your cover letter.
1. News Department: Logging games/tapes, hands-on experience with non-linear editing, shadowing various positions around the news room, observing in field shoot, observing rundown meetings, performing minimal non-specific tasks as needed, assisting marketing with on-site events
2. Live Events: Logging game melts, transcribing player interviews, finding photos of players online, cutting players out for use in After Effects/Photoshop, ingesting footage into the AVID editing system, placing footage on timeline and selecting the best sound bytes, searching archival footage, looking up statistics for players, making labels for melts and DVDs, compiling DVDs for Talent and Production personnel, finding music for features within our database/library, supervisor schedule permitting, intern may be asked to assist on-site with live events and help to either stage manage, get stats for talent, or help maintain communication between the truck and talent, assisting marketing with on-site events
3. Studio Operations: Assisting in the proper set-up for field productions at various sports venues (Levi's Stadium, AT&T Park, SAP Center, O.Co Coliseum, Oracle Arena), assisting with audio and video for pro Bay Area pregame and postgame shows (49ers, Giants, A's, Warriors and Sharks), gaining hands-on experience by shadowing and assisting Videographers, Technical Directors and Audio Engineers, contributing ideas to optimize execution of field operations, assisting marketing with on-site events Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco, CA
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship Desired Characteristics Desired Qualifications

• Strong interest in understanding the Sports Media landscape
• Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at a time
