Marketing & Publicity Internship - Winter 2016
MYRIAD PICTURES is a leading independent entertainment company specializing in production, financing and worldwide distribution of feature films. Participating in top markets and festivals around the world, Myriad has garnered a strong reputation as a high quality distributor of content for all formats. The company holds an impressive and diverse library of critically acclaimed art house and commercially successful mainstream filmed programming including Goon, The Good Girl, Van Wilder, Jeepers Creepers 2, Academy Award® nominated Margin Call and the critically acclaimed The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.
The successful candidate will work hand in hand with the manager of marketing & publicity. Some of the tasks include:
-Attending weekly executive marketing meetings.
-Press coverage: checking very frequently for news about our titles then compile news into a PDF used to send out to potential buyers and promotes our film.
-Film Festivals and Markets: creating or making sure we have enough supplies of marketing materials (market letters, posters, flyers, catalogues, sending the important info to all our contacts/buyers), creating the buyers lists, keeping track of the logistics.
-Creating e-mail blasts for our announcements, update our catalogue, monitor RSVP lists for our screenings. Attention to detail is VERY important!
-Social media: post on the company's Facebook and Twitter and find new ways to engage our audiences.
-Helping the office run smoothly and having a positive, can-do attitude!
Duration: January - March 2016 (with possibility to extend)
How many hours per week: 2-3 days a week on Mon-Fri 10 - 6
Qualifications:
Required:
• Must receive college academic credit
• Suggested GPA 3.0 or above
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must have a laptop
• Photoshop and/or Illustrator knowledge preferred
