About Us: The company is an Agoura Hills, CA based digital video encoding and services company whose clients include video content owners, distributors and studios. We encode and deliver to numerous online, TV and mobile platforms.
Position Summary: An Encoding Technician captures from source tape, and then conforms using specific templates, and software. You will work as part of the Production Team and take direction from the Team Leader. Technicians perform work order based assignments at a high level of precision with an eye for technical details. Candidates are those who possess a can-do, results oriented attitude, and take ownership of work-order assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Job Responsibilities: Operation of Video/Audio encoding software, mainly Final Cut Pro, Compressor, Motion, Rhozet, and Episode. In addition to software will be operating various pieces of hardware such as, DVW decks, SRW decks, D5 decks, Telestream Pipeline, AJA Cards, and Blackmagic Cards. Tape formats mainly consist of Digibeta tapes, HDCam & SR tape. Team member must ensure work orders are updated in a timely and accurate manner. Must effectively analyze and communicate information in order to resolve issues and concerns as they arise. Main duties consist of ingesting tape, repairing files, and basic clip creation. Understanding of 3:2 pull down is a plus. Completion of additional duties as required.
Qualifications: Individual must possess a fundamental understanding of digital audio, digital video, multimedia and consumer electronic devices. Individual must be detail-oriented and focused. Beginner to Intermediate understanding of Final Cut Pro or Adobe is a must. Familiarity with videotape formats, video file types and container formats is preferred. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of aspect ratios and frame rates used in HD and SD environments is also preferred. Basic understanding of Windows and Mac is required. Individual will work in a multimedia production environment requiring little to no physical labor. Experience in video creation for Apple iTunes is major plus. Associate degree in computer science or programming, electronics or A/V technology related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
