JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for generating NEW revenue through the sale of club-controlled inventory in radio, signage and digital assets - as well as promotions, suites and other hospitality.
Essential Functions:
New and Renewal Relationships:
• Research, prospect and establish leads for corporate relationships for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Lynx and Target Center
• Sustain a high level of outbound sales activity (including but not limited to calls, digital communication and face to face meetings) so as to drive a successful sales process.
• Identify potential partner needs and objectives and use this information to develop corporate partner proposals.
• Coordinate and deliver corporate partner presentations plus all related items including collateral materials, audio-visual resources, etc.
• Manage a protected list of corporate prospects so as to maximize the sale of fully integrated sponsorships and meet and exceed sales goals for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Lynx and Target Center (with special attention on net revenues) in all major categories.
Research/Analytics/Measurement:
• Work closely with Director of Analytics and Senior Coordinator of Corporate Analytics to effectively utilize all research vehicles such as Scarborough, Repucom and Block Six Analytics.
Fulfillment of Accounts:
• Work closely with the Partnership Activation Department to ensure contract fulfillment.
Commitment to Culture:
• Utilize CRM tracking tools and existing sales processes to track progress effectively and regularly use this data to keep management informed of progress toward preset goals.
• Work game days to entertain existing and potential clients.
• Participate in departmental pod meetings designed to increase efficiency and improve cross departmental relationships.
• Spearhead, participate and assist with additional projects as assigned by departmental leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent working experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of sales experience required; corporate advertising, media or other corporate sales experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working in sports is preferred.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Computer skills preferred (including Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
A person in this role has a solid understanding of their prospective discipline and works to stay knowledgeable on new trends, methodologies and approaches within the industry to improve upon current policies and practices. This individual will have the ability to work independently and lead specific projects within the department, reporting progress to managers. The role requires an individual who can maximize resources, prioritize multiple tasks, and develop shared ideas with departmental members and managers. This person should effectively lead and contribute to meetings, making a positive impact on department goals and strategic plans. As a brand ambassador this person will stay highly accessible to fans, clients and colleagues, and should have strong communication skills with significant understanding of the brand.
