Web Developer (G-League, FedExForum & NBA 2K eLeague)
Position Purpose
The Web Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing the Memphis G-League Team web properties to help meet overall business objectives along with the day-to-day development and management of FedExForum.com and the Memphis NBA 2K eLeague team web properties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day aspects of the Memphis Hustle, FedExForum and Memphis eLeague team web sites.
• Responsibilities include layout, new section development, content updates (pre and post-game, special features, event updates, photo galleries, press releases), multimedia encoding/management.
• Ensure that content layout is mobile responsive and user-friendly.
• Create clean and valid code for modularity and reusability.
• Build and update website functionality and features as required.
• Act as team web liaison with NBA G-League digital services.
• Pre- and post-game and event duties will require the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
General
• Work closely with all counterparts within the Grizzlies organization, including but not limited to Arena Ops, Live Entertainment, Promotions, Brand, Broadcast, Marketing Partnership and others to ensure proper execution of all G-League, FedExForum and eLeague elements, programs and initiatives.
• Pre- and post-game and event duties will require the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Other related duties as required.
Required Skills
, Experience & Abilities
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in Web Development.
• Minimum of 1-2 years' graphic design experience.
• Knowledge and demonstrated use of HTML, HTML5, CSS and php is required. Must be able to hand code.
• Comfort in working with content management systems – Drupal (required) and Wordpress (preferred)
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience with mobile-first and responsive design cross-platform testing.
• Flexibility in handling a variety of assignments with changing priorities and parameters.
• Strong typesetting and page layout skills.
• Strong grammatical, spelling, proofreading, and writing abilities.
• Experience with MySQL is a plus.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Independent, creative problem-solver and thinker.
• Highly organized and responsible with good time and project management abilities.
• A team player and detail oriented.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.
Preferred:
• Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball.
• Experience with JQuery/JavaScript.
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
• Graphic design and production skills, experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, After Effects) is a plus.
