Marvel New Media is seeking an Operations Manager who will be integral to the operation and growth of its studio and field production team. This New York-based team is tasked with the creation of audio & video content, from promotional material to original entertainment that will be distributed on all key Marvel and social media platforms.
Responsibilities
• Scheduling studio facilities, staff, and equipment for studio productions
• Oversee upkeep & technical health of studio facility and coordinate maintenance
• Serve as hands-on director for studio productions and special events as well as coordination of major productions both inside and outside of the building
• Define specifications and maintain quality control for all studio and edited content
• Manage post production SAN, oversee system health and coordinate maintenance with storage vendors and Marvel IT.
• Administer production asset management system, develop & enforce metadata policies, build transcode, distribution & archive workflows that prioritize efficiency and automation
• Develop and implement robust live stream and IP-based workflows for studio and field production
• Manage video platform publishing workflows and team
• Oversee all production & post equipment, allocate resources for studio & field shoots, track usage and schedule maintenance
• Identify equipment needs for capital purchases, evaluate integration of new equipment into existing workflows and provide financial justification
• Provide support to producers for equipment rentals and maintain relationship with rental vendors
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of production, post and studio experience
• Must be an innovative thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.
• High work ethic and standards with a working knowledge of all studio and remote production equipment.
• Understanding and experience with post production storage and asset management.
• Understanding and experience with live switching and streaming technology. Hands on TriCaster experience a plus.
• Knowledge of industry standard accelerated file transfer technology
• Scheduling, collaboration, and review and approval system experience
