Marvel New Media is seeking an Audio Producer who will be integral to the operation and growth of the audio component of its studio, field, event and podcast business. This New York-based production team is tasked with the creation of audio & video content, from promotional material to original entertainment that will be distributed on all key Marvel and social media platforms.
Responsibilities
• Defines and oversees the creative and operational aspects of studio, field, event and post production audio for the Marvel New Media Group
• Collaborates with the Development team on podcast creative and manages the production of recurring audio podcasts
• Oversees the mixing, monitoring and final QC of all audio for both studio and field content
• Supervises post audio mixer, trains others in technical and operational areas, and generates audio specifications
• Generates, tracks and reports on production schedules and budgets for assigned projects and events
• Understands and identifies technology solutions for recording scenarios both in studio and in the field for video and podcast content
• Collaborates with audience development and distribution teams to optimize consumption of the audio content
• Develops audio workflow and signal flow for live events such as conventions and red carpets
• Sources audio recording crews for field shoots and maintains approved crew list
• Identifies and oversees the selection and use of third party audio facilities
• Maintains internal stock music library and manages relationships with external libraries
• Approves all cue sheets and interfaces with Legal on licensing issues
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of production, post and studio experience
• Experience with audio editing tools, digital audio publishing platforms
• Proficiency in the use of broadcast equipment and technology, including but not limited to, audio mixing consoles, outboard equipment, digital audio delivery servers, microphone and IFB signal flows, mix minus, intercom devices, broadcast routers, etc.
• Highly developed knowledge of broadcast methods of measuring audio signals to ensure quality control of Marvel endorsed standards on all operations
• Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting techniques and effective communication to best convey the issues necessary for resolution
• Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and manage simultaneous projects
