Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Los Angeles Sparks are looking for an individual who has passion for the sports industry and is looking to get started in sales and customer service. We are looking for someone who wants to jump start their career in professional sports. Are you the one?
The Member Services Intern/Coordinator will assist with the continued success of the Member Services Department of the Los Angeles Sparks. The primary responsibilities of this position include: assisting management in fulfilling benefits/experiences related to the membership program, processing Ticket Exchanges and single game tickets for members; responding to member inquiries and serving as a frontline customer service presence to members and event attendees.
The Member Services Intern/Coordinator will have the opportunity to learn the daily business operations of a basketball team, including all special programs and initiatives created to drive revenue, attendance and customer loyalty.
The internship starts in February and ends in October and the intern is expected to be available to work during Sparks home games and special events taking place, including nights, holidays and weekends.
Qualifications:
College students or individuals seeking entry into sports industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Self-motivated without needing constant direction
• Strong communication, customer service and organizational skills
• Must be enthusiastic with a desire to learn through hands on experience
• Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast paced environment
• Must be a team player
• Ability to be at the arena long hours including night and weekend events
• Strong attention to detail
Duties and Responsibilities:
• The Intern will work directly with our Sr. Manager of Member Relations and Guest Services to provide seamless customer service to our members and fans during games and special events
• Learn and assist with coordination and execution of pre, post and in-game member experiences, key customer activation events and fulfillment
• Grow professional-client relationship interactions through outstanding customer service
• Gain broad knowledge of member benefits
• Assist with the fulfillment of various Member benefits
• Learn game day duties (ie. Setting up membership table, distributing member gifts, etc.)
• Assist with administrative tasks for the department (mailings, data entry, research, special projects, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to address and solve problems quickly and effectively
• Produce and update game day elements and distribute to sales staff
• Use independent judgment and discretion in managing member expectations and building client relationships
• Punctual and reliable attendance
Special Requirements:
Use of personal vehicle
Attend all LA Sparks home games
Job includes night & weekend hours
