Imperative Entertainment, a next-generation production company and studio located in Santa Monica, seeks motivated, capable, and awesome interns for Fall 2016.
Imperative was founded in 2014 with the intention of making elevated, distinguished, and unique content outside of the traditional studio system model. Imperative recently optioned the NYT Bestseller WE WERE LIARS, as well as NYT Bestselling author David Grann's next novel, KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON. We have a diverse and expansive slate of projects in both TV and film that are either in development or production.
Interns at Imperative Entertainment have a unique opportunity to be part of a small and quickly growing creative team and gain exposure to multiple aspects of the development and production process across TV and film. The internship position will consist of everything from reading scripts for coverage, to reviewing dailies, offering casting suggestions, forming writer/director lists, helping the staff prepare for meetings, and brainstorming new ideas. Interns will also get the opportunity to participate in weekly Weekend Read and Production meetings. Additionally, interns will help with administrative tasks such as maintaining the office setting, organizing files/DVDs, etc. We seek interns who are self-starters, highly motivated, strong readers/writers, and approach the office space with a positive, sociable, and energetic attitude.
Interns also receive the unique benefit of having face-to-face interactions with executives, partners, and talent within Imperative and the ability to parley these interactions into exciting opportunities for their own career. Past interns have grown into both part-time and full-time positions at Imperative.
Interns must be able to intern two days per week from 10AM to 6PM. Must be able to intern for academic credit. Previous internship experience, knowledge of coverage, and familiarity with the entertainment industry are a plus.
