ITV America is the largest independent producer of non-scripted content in America through its production companies Leftfield Pictures, Sirens Media, Loud TV, Outpost Entertainment, High Noon Entertainment, Gurney Productions, Thinkfactory Media, and ITV Entertainment. ITV America produces leading content including Hell's Kitchen, Pawn Stars, Fixer Upper, and Real Housewives of NJ.
Based in ITV's LA office, this role will report to the General Counsel/EVP of Business and Legal Affairs, and will support the west coast division of ITV America as well as the whole of ITV America as needed. Title for this position will be commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBLITIES
• To provide business and legal affairs support for the west coast operations of ITV America and the company as a whole. This position if for both Legal and Business Affairs.
• Manage day-to-day legal issues as directed by the General Counsel
• Collaborate with fellow in-house counsel in LA and NY on any production related issues by adding insight and guidance on legal issues
• Mentor in-house Production Management teams on common legal related issues pertaining to releases/clearance (Location, Appearance, Third-Party Materials), copyright infringements, Fair Use, etc.
• Drafting, negotiating and concluding agreements anticipated above with regular direction from the NY office's head of Business Affairs
• Draft and prioritize talent agreements, co-production agreement and ancillary revenue agreements with in-house counsel and the Business Affairs team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 6 years legal experience with television/digital production either in-house, at a network or law firm.
• Licensed to practice in CA or NY or applicable in-house certification.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and an ability to grasp new areas quickly and rise to a challenge. Must demonstrate an ability to collaborate with talent, executives and attorneys alike.
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment with a wide variety of people and personalities.
• Ability to quickly establish excellent and trusted working relationships both within and outside the company.
