General Description:This position requires general responsibility for day-to-day performance of routine preventive, predictive and reparative maintenance duties. In addition to performing hands-on installation and repair, the Maintenance Electrician acts as a quality liaison to oversee services including but not limited to setup and removal of temporary equipment associated with events.
Essential Responsibilities:
• • Demonstrates our One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork.
• Inspects repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment.
• Generally responsible for setup and tear down of electrical distribution equipment required for events.
• Perform repairs as needed on building electrical systems including controls, building automation, emergency systems, lighting control systems, etc…
• Responsible for maintenance and repair of all electrical distribution systems associated with the Toyota Center.
• Will work with supervisor and managers to develop and implement maintenance program and procedures for all electrical equipment/systems.
• Provide support to supervisor and managers for contractor utilization.
• Assist with monitoring, control, and periodic testing of all emergency systems.
• Will be required to work day and evening shifts to assist with coverage of event and non-event related operations.• • Assume responsibility for troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, control, and HVAC systems while working in a safe manner and following all applicable regulatory requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED is required.
• City of Houston Master or Journeyman Electrician's license required.
• Technical degree, vocational training or other technical training is considered advantageous.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years experience required in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
• Experience required with low voltage control, lighting and power up to 12KV systems.
• Experience with facility operation, startup, and commissioning activities preferred.
• Experience in a service oriented environment desirable but not required.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Highly professional ethical and safety standards are required.
• Relates well with all kinds of people, understands customer service, uses diplomacy and tact.
• Ability to recognize and solve problems; finds common ground.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks or assignments at the same time.
• Self-motivated and proactive to improve or enhance facility maintenance and operation.
• Willing to work any hours necessary to ensure reliable, efficient building operations.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and complete reports.
• SKILLS: Ability to fully understand operation and maintenance of cooling/heating plants and building electrical systems. Ability to read and work from detailed prints and drawings. Experience managing contractor personnel. Experience with HVAC, plant systems and building systems. Understanding of system design, control and operation.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
• he vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
• The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
• The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
